STANDING ORDER NO. 28   /2006

          Sub: EGM amendment – reg.

Attention of all officers of Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House is invited to the Standing Order No. 54/2004 dated 31.12.2004 wherein procedure for amendment of EGM and removal of EGM errors has been given.

It has been observed that the officers are not following the prescribed procedure for amendment of EGM, as a result in many cases where shipping bill has not been included in the hard copy of the EGM filed with MCD, EP copies have been generated and the export benefits have been claimed.

The EGM has to be filed by the shipping lines electronically on EDI and the hard copy in the MCD and accordingly the request for any addition/deletion in the EGM also has to be made by the concerned shipping line only. The amendment in EGM has to be allowed only after proper verification from hard copy of the EGM filed in MCD.

It is reiterated that amendment in EGMs should be allowed only after proper verification from hard copy of the EGM filed in MCD and no amendment in the EGM should be allowed on the basis of requests made by CHAs/Exporter.

Theses instructions should be followed scrupulously and any deviation will be viewed seriously.
